LA Jangajji – Korean-Mexican Pickle (100 g)

The encounter you didn't know you needed: chayote, serrano chili, and onion pickled in a savory, slightly sweet, vinegary, and spicy soy brine. Inspired by Korean jangajji (장아찌), a very common pickle in Koreatown markets and restaurants in Los Angeles. This version is born from the encounter between Korean and Mexican communities, who for generations have shared cuisines, ingredients, and ideas. Chayote is not part of the traditional Korean version, but here it finds its place. Enjoy it as a side dish, over rice, in tacos, or straight from the jar.
